Sheffield Hallam University – Private Placement

QMPF was asked to provide advice to Sheffield Hallam University on financing options to accelerate the University’s Campus Plan to meet the future needs of its students and staff.  The Campus Plan is a core component of the University achieving its aim of becoming the world’s leading applied university. After assessing options, a private placement was secured which will deliver £70m funding to the University at a competitive rate of 2.56%.

QMPF acted as lead arranger and supported the University and Senior Management throughout the process, reviewing the initial funding requirement, assessing potential funding solutions, undertaking initial soft market and managing engagement through to close. We also presented to the University’s Task & Finish Group to ensure that it was aware of the process and implications for the University.

Deborah Harry, Chief Finance and Planning Officer at the University said:

“We are delighted to have secured the additional funding we needed to support the acceleration of our campus plan developments, a key element of the University’s vision to become a world-leading applied university and I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge that QMPF played an integral role in guiding us (the University) through the process to successfully secure our funding.    From our initial interactions with the team at QMPF, to closing the deal and drawing down the funds, we continued to be impressed by the team’s knowledge of the market, their sound and impartial expert advice and the quality of the information they provided us with.   QMPF were always quick to respond to our needs, which we found essential to ensure that the process ran smoothly, assured key stakeholders, and met our timescales.”
