QMPF advised the University of Brighton on procuring a private sector partner for the new student residence development on its Moulsecoomb Campus. Uliving (a consortium of Bouygues and John Laing Investments) was appointed as partner and will deliver a development consisting of five blocks varying between 8 and 18 storeys which will provide more than 800 student bedrooms as well as ground-floor amenities for the students’ union and fitness facilities.  Funding for the project is provided through a £91m 50 year indexing lease provided by Aviva and £8.6m of subordinated debt and equity provided by John Laing Investments and Bouygues.

QMPF advised the University throughout the bid process, from the development of the tender documents to securing the funding at financial close.
