Steven joined QMPF in 2021, following qualification as a Chartered Accountant at PwC, where he specialised in the asset and wealth management sector. He works across the core sectors QMPF specialises in, with experience including:
- providing financial advice to multiple universities undertaking, and financially closing, student accommodation ‘Design, Build, Finance and Operate’ transactions, including a >£300m scheme in 2025,
- providing buy side advice for M&A transactions in the anaerobic digestion sector, including portfolio analysis, model management (vendor and bid models) and valuation,
- providing bid side advice to a private sector consortium for a public procurement in the district heating sector,
- advising an NHS Trust in the >£200m refinancing of a PFI project,
- advising a University in financing its transition to net-zero, from an initial capital structure analysis through to a successful fundraising via debut private placement, which was delivered under a green financing framework,
- supporting the completion of business cases for district heating networks and solar PV installations, including financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and commercial advice,
- developing a tailored financial model for a retirement living enterprise, to assist in the evaluation of pipeline developments, and presenting that model to a prospective senior funder,
- providing financial advice and modelling support to a Council to facilitate a successful bid into the ‘Contracts for Difference’ regime, attaining revenue support for a remote island wind project.
Steven graduated with an MA (1st Class Hons) in Economics from University of Glasgow.
